To carry out our mission of enhancing and perpetuating the Inupiaq tradition of distance dog mushing in the Arctic, we are going forward with holding the Kobuk 440 and Taaqpak 120 Dog Sled Races in 2021. Our top priority is the safety of Northwest Arctic residents and security of the checkpoint villages. We believe we can hold the event safely with the input of public health officials, local government entities, and residents of the Northwest Arctic.
