Picture
I am the granddaughter of Emmaline Downey from Noatak, Alaska and my Auntie is Michelle Downey-Barger also from Noatak but now in Palmer, I have lots of family in the NW Arctic Region. I lived in Noatak from the time I was born until I was about 3 years old when my parents decided to move down to South Central Alaska (Anchorage, Palmer and eventually Willow). My Inupiaq names are from my ahna Emmaline - Nasauyaaq and my Aunti Ruth - Tapitchigaaq.
I got into mushing by helping Jenny Evans with her dogs.

I have completed the 2016 Willow Jr 100 and the 2020 Willow 300. I have 20 dogs in the kennel and 13 are part of the race team. Bryne, Iago, Winnie, Rowan, Bilbo, Peanut, Cashew, Matisse, Cezanne, Ash, Ragnar, Heath, and Flea.
I am excited to be running dogs back up on trails around the region my family is from, I am looking forward to seeing family and friends (from my summer job at Red Dog), and I can't wait to share my love of running dogs!
