Miriam Osredkar began mushing as a dog sledding guide in 2006 in Jackson, Wyoming with Iditarod veteran Frank Teasley. In 2011, she came to Alaska to work as a handler for Ryan Redington’s team, eventually working her way into competitive racing with Racing Beringia kennels. The twelve dogs she is running with are a mix of Mille Porsild’s 2022 Iditarod team as well as some emerging leaders from Dean Osmar and Deedee Jonrowe. She completed the Serum Run in 2015 and the Iditarod in 2016, and claimed a championship title at Eagle Cap 200 in 2018. Although she often runs a younger team that is still gaining in experience, she finds much joy in leading a healthy, happy team across the finish line. She would like to thank sponsor Buddy Giddens and acknowledge the individual dog sponsors of Mille Porsild’s team.
