I grew up in Alabama- despised the heat and always talked about moving to Alaska. Graduated from UAB School of Nursing in 1993 then took off travel nursing across the country. I made my way to Cordova Alaska in 1997 then over the years worked in Valdez, Sitka, Barrow, And Nome. I moved to Kotz in 2018 with my then 6th grade daughter and immediately we fell in love with everything this region offers. Currently I’m a nurse at Maniilaq in the Covid department and I fly out the the villages administering vaccines. Daughter Bristol, now a freshman, has been mushing for over a year and is completely dedicated to the sport and the lifestyle. I’m honored and excited to be a part of the Kobuk 440 team and look forward to working with and learning from everyone.
