Calvin Daugherty racing from Seavey's Iditarod Racing Kennel started mushing in 2015. He says he got into mushing while helping his dad train for his rookie Iditarod. 
This will be his first Kobuk 440 but he has completed  Junior Iditarod (2020), Copper Basin 300 (2023, 2024), Willow 300 (2023) and Iditarod (2024, 2025). Winning the Willow 300 "Rookie of the year" and Iditarod 2025 "Most Inspirational" Award. 
He says he is looking forward to seeing local friends, Colton and Bailey, and competing with some of the toughest dogs and mushers in the sport. 
He would like to thank Sadie Lindquist for help training the dogs, and Mitch Seavey for giving him the best dogs in the world to train.
