Raised on St. Lawrence Island, Michelle has made Kotzebue her home since 2002. She's been a Recovery Support Leader & Tribal Youth Mentor with Maniilaq since 2014, worked with the Alaska Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs, and trained with Promoting Community Conversations About Research to End Suicide, or PC CARES, to hold suicide prevention learning circles. She is passionate about giving time to her community, including volunteering for the Kobuk 440 for several years. She is part of the Harris family, and mushing is part of her heritage. She would like to thank everyone for their support, and is honored to serve on the Kobuk 440 board.
