Tony Browning has been mushing dogs since the 1970s. He ran the Kobuk 440 for the first time in 1993, and won the race in the year 2000. Based in Nenana, Alaska, Browning first got into mushing to haul wood, ice, and check his trapline. In addition to the Kobuk 440, he has run the Kuskokwim 300, the Nushagak 300, the Nome-Council 200 and many other races all over the state – his favorite being ones in ‘Bush Alaska’. The kennel he mushes out of is Alaskan Wildstyle Racing and some of his leading dogs are Charlie, Dudley and Frankie. This year, he is looking forward to seeing lots of old friends and making new ones, and he would like to thank his team sponsor Northern Air Cargo, as well as his wife Marion and Aaron, Mandy, and family.
